a friendly experience, good teachers, improving conversation, difficult but important grammar

pretty spot on

I was hoping to improve my understanding of basic Italian grammar and have the opportunity to gain more confidence with speaking beyond the context of a restaurant.

The course met my expectations and was true to the description of the teaching and learning on the school website.

nothing to say here!

For me everything worked well but I found there were too many worksheets. Part of this is a personal issue - I know they are a practical way to practice grammatical exercises but I sometimes find them too dense with text or the images just hard to decipher quickly. In the afternoon sessions I could only complete one or two and used the time to make a start on my homework.

I have no complaints

I really enjoyed my week at school and loved my teachers Stefania and Maria, They made the lessons fun and were very supportive and patient. This approach helped me to feel increasingly relaxed (I was in a class of 10 and I could have been the grandparent of everyone apart from one other person!) Coming to school was a test for me to see if I liked it and if I would do it again. Having now reflected on my experience I am very keen to continue my learning journey in London and to return in the spring for another week or maybe two. I have not experienced immersive language learning before and as someone who hasn't studied hard or worked hard for many years it was initially very difficult to focus so intensely and it made my brain hurt!! However, I was really impressed with how skilful the teachers were at ensuring understanding and it felt great that I could pretty much follow everything. I thought the school had a great inclusive friendly atmosphere and I immediately felt part of the school from the moment I walked in. The admin team were very efficient and responsive. Accommodation was organised for me and I have to say our host, Monica, was wonderful. Very welcoming, trusting and so kind. I would definitely want to stay with her again. It was a great match so thank you for that.

I very much hope to come back next year with another friend and enjoy learning a bit more Italian in your school again!
Thank you!

I expected to get a very basic level of understanding and speaking skills

Well, of course I thought four weeks was a good amount of time to really move forward with learning italian but what I ultimately discovered is to have patience and appreciate many layered experiences as I learn this gorgeous language over time. Piano, piano. There is no quick way to do this. Discovering italian will be a quest for the rest of my life. Something to be savored. I hope to return to the school again.

The course was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Meeting and spending time with so many interesting people from around the world and sharing enriching time together. I enjoyed living in Bologna for a month not as a tourist. It now feels like home and is one of my favorite cities. I appreciated the challenge and difficulty of learning something new.

I loved it all.

Todo bien

Me gustaría recibir esquemas o resumen después de la clase de gramática.

Seguir así, gracias.

Estupendo todo, me ha encantado y volveré el año próximo.

Just doing a lot of grammatic and in the evenings doing some fun things to improve the conversation competences

It was much more better because of the different methods, which the teachers used and the tasks we did where much more practical.

Maybe having also other options of social events beside the passegiatas in the evenings, for example doing some other sports, visiting the university...
