Italian language + cookery and wine in Bologna

1st part: Italian Language (20 hours per week)
Class begins with an assessment test. There are 10 different levels. Each level consists of 20 lesson-hours (50 minutes per lesson). The first part of the day focuses on grammatical structure and vocabulary, the second part on expression and communication. Classes are taught by professional teachers with experience in teaching Italian as a foreign language. Students learn the forms and rules of the language with particular care given to usage and expression. There is also emphasis on comprehension, and the use of the language in a cookery context. The school provides the teaching materials, including free photocopies. Text-books are lent by the school.

2nd part: Cookery and Wine-tasting (12 hours per week)
Cooking Seminar Subjects concern cooking tradition in Italy in general with particular focus on bolognese and regional cuisine. The program provides a general cooking course designed to teach the basic skills necessary to prepare authentic Italian dishes. Students, together with the cooking teacher, prepare a complete menu: first course, second course, side dish, dessert and wine. Seminars are held twice a week - Tuesdays and Thursdays - from 7.00 to 11.00 p.m. After cooking, the students and teacher enjoy the meal they have cooked in a convivial atmosphere, tasting wines and liqueurs, talking with the chef and his assistant throughout the evening. The course is held in the private kitchen of the cooking teacher. It is fully equipped for professional cooking courses.
Wine tasting meeting Wine appreciation course designed: 1. to recognize the different kinds of wine, 2. to choose the best wine for quality and price 3. to learn about the best combinations of wine and food.
Visit to a local market One session is devoted to a visit to the local market to learn ways of choosing and buying ingredients.
Certificate At the end of the course the school confers a certificate of participation valid in the professional field.
