Airport transfer and pick up service

Bologna airport is located 6 km away from the city centre. A bus service runs every 15 minutes (Euro 5). If you prefer to take a taxi the price is about Euro 20.
If requested the school provides an airport pick-up service in Bologna and in Arezzo. Please contact the secretary office. There is a charge for this service.

Trial day

When you register, you may also make a request for a trial day. If at the end of the first day the student is not satisfied all course fees paid will be completely refunded. This opportunity to decide if the course meets your needs is available only the first day of the course.

Didactic Material

The school provides the didactic material, including photocopies. Text-books are lent by the school.

Homework

Because of their intensive character our courses require much co-operation from the participant. About two hours’ homework per day is expected of each student, at home or at school with a supervisor teacher for any linguistic problem.

Child care

Can be provided during lesson time. The price varies from 30 Euro to 45 Euro per day, depending on the age and the number of children. Please advise us in advance if you would like to take advantage of this service.

What to wear

The Italian climate varies according to region and season. Winter can be cold and summer hot. In spring and autumn the climate is usually temperate but it may rain! Clothing should be suitable for the seasons and city life. It is worthwhile to have shoes for excursions. Don’t forget your bathing suit if you want go to the seaside in summer!

A limited number of bicycles are available for hire by Municipality

Leisure time and sport

In the leisure time you are advised to take the opportunity to meet Italians to practice the language. Meeting places include the local hostelries, or “osterie”, the University area, and the courtyards in large buildings open in summer as cafes for concerts and shows.
There are facilities for swimming and tennis, volleyball, football and cycling in the parks. And of course there are opportunities for long walks in the hills around the city.

Friends, relatives and guests

Friends, relatives and guests of course participants are also welcome. They benefit from the special prices offered to our students in the university’s restaurant, hotels and families. Furthermore they can sometimes take part in the programme as guests, even if they are not registered.

Scholarships

Cultura Italiana offers scholarships (50% reduction on the course fee) every year to Italian Cultural Institutes, Italian Embassies and Consulates, Italian Department at Universities or other cultural and social organizations which collaborate in the development and promotion of the School. Scholarships are not awarded to individuals, but only through these Institutions.
